Rate Of
New Building Causing Problems for Treatment Plant.
Kilkenny county council have confirmed that Thomastown
sewage treatment plant is already running at full capacity at only 4
years in operation.
The plant was originally designed to meet the needs of the
town for a further 25 years, but the number of new buildings has already
stretched it to full capacity.
Due to the near over loading of the plant a number of
planning applications have had to be refused until the plant is
upgraded. No indication has being given as to when this upgrade will be
complete, but when it occurs it will not necessitate on the upgrading of
the towns pipe work.
